My Experience Abroad:

As an Art History minor, my time abroad supplemented my in class learning at Penn. The experience of engaging with artistic masterpieces first hand in some of the most renowned museums in the world far surpasses looking at a photo of artwork on a lecture slide. Part of my Art History class at Queen Mary was professor-guided museum visits; our class would discuss the intricacies of the work, the curation, and the historical texts, critiques, and analyses while in the museum and mere feet from hundreds of years old paintings. Being able to directly apply, in real time, the wealth of knowledge my Art History professors at Penn provided me with was just one incredible component of the experiential learning that takes place abroad.

Other Highlights:

  • Traveling throughout Europe

  • Visiting Windsor Castle

  • Views from the top of the Shard

  • Going to and eating at almost every food market (i.e. Camden Market, Borough Market, etc.)
