My Experience:

I chose to study in Singapore because it's such a diverse and cosmopolitan city with deep historical, political, economic, and cultural connections all over Asia. As someone majoring in International Studies and Business with a focus on China, I took classes that allowed me to explore my academic interests such as China-India Interactions, World Religions, and Sociology of Modern China. Nevertheless, most of my learning happened outside of the classroom, as conversations with friends and adventures around the city helped me better understand Singapore and its relationship to the world. In the future, I'm excited to continue to push myself out of my comfort zone and open myself to new places and opportunities.

Other Highlights:

  • Making friends with both local and exchange students from all over the world

  • Living in a university dorm and joining / supporting campus co-curricular activities

  • Exploring all the delicious foods that Singapore has to offer at various hawker centers and restaurants

  • Trips to Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia

  • Having convenient and affordable transportation options within and around Singapore
