My Experience Abroad:
Despite having to leave early due to coronavirus, I completed my courses from back home and learned more interesting material than ever before. I took courses that were all in Spanish and that I would never have taken at Penn. The coursework mainly required writing lengthy papers. Since I had rarely done that before, the experience will really benefit my Spanish writing in the future. I also took International Studies courses which counted as a part of my major, so all my courses helped my comprehensive understanding of international studies.
Other Highlights:
-
Going to Granada, Spain with the CASA group and getting to see the Alhambra
-
Spontaneously attending a light show in Marina
-
Renting and driving a motorcycle around Barcelona
-
Traveling with the new friends I made through the program
-
Taking classes with the director of CASA, Juanjo, because the teaching style in Spain is very different and more personal
