My Experience Abroad:
I study Biological Basis of Behavior at Penn, but at University College London I studied in the Neuroscience Department. I enjoyed this opportunity because Penn's BBB courses are more multi-disciplinary, but at UCL I could take specific courses on my interests. I found that it nicely complemented my major here and gave me a new perspective on some of the scientific and medical issues that we discuss here in the U.S. In some of my courses, I had a different professor for every lecture period, which allowed me to meet and learn from leaders in the field that we were exploring that day.
At Penn, I am a Biological Basis of Behavior (BBB) major, but I took a global seminar course through the Nursing School. I will be going to medical school next year, so I wanted to take this course about medicine in China, so that I could better understand different patients' perspectives on their medical care. I had never been to China before, so this global seminar was a great way for me to experience China alongside a knowledgable professor.
