My Experience Abroad:
As someone who went on a plane and left the country for the very first time my freshman year to explore business in Italy as part of the WH298 WIEP trip, having the opportunity to study and live over 10,000 miles away at the University of Sydney in Australia was mind-blowing. I took classes that fulfilled my English minor and a geology class during the summer semester for my NSME requirement. Studying geology in such a diverse country with an incredible landscape was a highlight of my abroad experience, and my trip to the Outback was the perfect culmination of the class as I was better able to appreciate Uluru, one of the largest monoliths in the world. Overall, the experience of studying and exploring in such an amazing country opened my eyes to the benefits of travel and, although going out of your comfort zone is intimidating, I've learned that this discomfort is necessary to grow, learn, and make memories that will last a lifetime!
