Mariana Velasco

Mariana Velasco is a rising senior at the Huntsman Program studying Business and International Studies targeting Russian. She is pursuing concentrations in Business Economics and Public Policy, and Finance. She was born and grew up in Guadalajara, Mexico before coming to Philadelphia to study at Penn. Mariana is part of the Penn World Scholars on campus and is part of the communications team in Huntsman writing articles from student interviews. During her freshman summer, she went to Portugal to intern at a Law school and spent a month in St. Petersburg learning Russian. In her free time, she likes watching movies, reading historical fiction, traveling, and learning foreign languages. She is looking forward to an unexpected adventure in Edinburgh, Scotland next Fall.
