Ask me about...

The course load and culture of academics at Trinity College.

Transportation abroad and living off campus (especially because I didn't live on campus -- I lived a bit farther out.)
-
Joining clubs on campus (I joined the tennis society and attended events held by other groups as well.)
My Experience Abroad:
My experience at Trinity College Dublin was flawless. I loved the university, and I was able to learn so much about the history and culture of Ireland, through the lens of literature and community exploration. I am a history major, and I was able to take two history classes abroad, one of which focused on Irish history, which I have previously not had the chance to learn about. My history classes were taught by charismatic and knowledgeable professors. After returning to the United States following my abroad experience, I can confidently say that I now have a broad understanding of Irish history. Because history is a subject wherein there are connections that span centuries and continents, I am excited to be able to apply my newfound knowledge to understanding material in other history courses and hopefully in my professional life as well.
Other Highlights:
-
I traveled to Valentia Island (in County Kerry -- Southwest Ireland) with friends from my program. We stayed on a farm, went polar plunging in the ocean, and explored the nearest town, Knightstown (which has a population of 243 people).
-
I experienced Trinity Ball, which is the largest private party in all of Europe. It is essentially a music festival held on Trinity College Dublin's campus at the end of April. Dressing up, and hanging out with my friends (both Irish and American) was so enjoyable, especially because it was seen as the culmination of our experience at the University.
-
I traveled to coastal towns near Dublin, such as Howth, Bray, Killiney, etc. These picturesque, tranquil towns were just a 30 min train ride from the bustling center of Dublin. Oftentimes, friends and I would take trips to these areas to picnic, swim, hike, and explore.
-
The CASA Dublin program took us on a multitude of tours, all of which were incredibly cool. We toured the GAA athletic stadium, went to a play at the Abbey Theater, and traveled to many castles and scenic locations.
