Living alone in Australian apartments
-
Fitting in college requirements in order to stay on track
My Experience Abroad:
I specifically chose the University of Sydney program with regard to my coursework because of their extensive list of classes on XCAT (the External Course Approval Tool). Since I'm currently on the pre-med track, going abroad was a tough decision, but it was well worth it. I was able to find classes that matched up to Biological Basis of Behavior classes as well as other classes that counted towards several of my College requirements. For instance, I took a class on Australian sport and culture which was able to satisfy my Cross-Cultural Analysis requirement. I also took classes on psychology, geology and neuroanatomy which were all valuable to my requirement/credit fulfillment. Taking classes with teachers and students from all over the world, especially with relation to my major, helped me get a new perspective on many things that I hadn't really thought about here at Penn.
Other Highlights:
-
Exploring the east coast of Australia while taking part in activities such as skydiving, bungee jumping, scuba diving, ATVing, and hiking
-
Taking classes from Australian professors who sponsored various trips to sporting events and geological sites
-
Traveling to countries such as New Zealand and Thailand to be immersed in different cultures
-
Creating lifelong connections with people all over the world
