My Experience Abroad:
Both of my abroad experiences were purposely disconnected from my coursework and my major at Penn; I am a Gender, Sexuality, & Women's Studies major on a pre-medical track, but my PGS experience was a Religious Studies course that traveled to Spain and my GRIP experience was a social media marketing intern at a hemp and medical marijuana company. I did this specifically because I wanted to gain an abroad experience that would offer me an entirely novel point of view and wholly unique experiences. I wanted to embark on travels that would broaden the scope of my knowledge base and expose me to fields of study and vocations that I was previously unfamiliar with. Both of these experiences did exactly that.
