My Experience Abroad:

The abroad program I participated in was targeted towards Biology students, and therefore not only had Biology coursework but also immense amounts of learning in the field. I also had the chance to complete a research project in Biology in my time abroad, which directly correlates to my major in Biology at Penn.

Other Highlights:

  • Walking through Corcovado National Park and being exposed to completely new biodiversity

  • Presenting my research project on antibiotic resistance in soil near leafcutter ant nests at our research symposium

  • Living with a homestay family and being able to share their culture

  • Living in the research station and being able to walk through the cloud forest during free time
