My Experience Abroad:

Throughout my journey to learn my heritage language, I have always looked forward to opportunities for Spanish immersion. Studying abroad in Sevilla was a long-awaited dream to not only complete my Hispanic Studies minor, but also improve my fluency and experience a new culture. Living abroad for 6 months was a highlight of my college experience and prepared me to feel confident speaking Spanish in academic and casual settings.

Other Highlights:

  • Dressing in "El Traje de Flamenca" for la Feria de Sevilla.

  • My mom and my host-mom meeting each other.

  • Visiting Córdoba, Ronda, Granada, and Málaga with my program.

  • Counting the number of croquetas I ate... I reached 150!

  • Making life-long friends.
