Ask me about...
-
Learning and speaking in another language.
-
Pursuing career goals while abroad.
-
How to immerse yourself in a new culture.
My Experience Abroad:
As a student at Penn, I have had many educational experiences that have changed my career path for the better. I started out as an undecided major, and then was interested in neuroscience. But, I have since ended up in the Criminology program at Penn. One of my interests has remained constant throughout the years: my love and passion for activism and Latin American culture. No matter what other classes I took in a given semester, Spanish was always one of them. Studying abroad gave me the highly immersive language and cultural experience that I needed to really get in the space of Hispanic academia that I am now sure I want to take part in.
Other Highlights:
-
Learning to surf in Pichilemu.
-
Hiking in Patagonia.
-
Expanded my Spanish skills.
-
Field work projects (interviewing historians, attending religious festivals, and checking out the urban art scene).
-
Taking tests in Spanish.
