Program:

  • GRIP: International Development in Seoul

Ask me about...

  • Navigating and financing international experiences as a FGLI student.

  • Being abroad for the first time.

  • Living far from home in an unfamiliar setting.

  • Finding community in an unfamiliar environment.

  • Navigating international work cultures.

My Experience Abroad:

As a political science and anthropology double major, I strive to understand the intersection between policy and its impact on humans, urban infrastructure, and community development. The opportunity to intern abroad has exposed me to the sector of international development, which marries my passion for international impact and dialogue. In Seoul, I interned with JHSustain, a public-facing consulting firm, which allowed me to work on water governance and climate resilience practices for the island of Leyte and Cambodia. Working on related projects allowed me to engage with international organizations like the Green Climate Fund and the Korea International Cooperation Agency, teaching me more about stakeholder discussion and organization interests. In terms of future endeavors, I plan to be involved in the international sphere where I can help facilitate difficult discussions around climate policy and sustainability to achieve a step forward in the right direction. Interning in Seoul has given me a taste of such work, motivating me to continue striving for a role in this realm.

Other Highlights:

  • Working on the "Climate Resilience in the Province of Leyte" project concept note to be submitted to the Green Climate Fund.

  • Visiting Jeju Island and completing the Mount Hallasan hike.

  • Attending three LG TWINS baseball games.

  • Exploring the city of Seoul and its balance between city landscapes and natural scenery.
