My Experience Abroad:

The Swedish Program offered numerous economics courses at one of the leading economics institutions of the world that gave me credit towards my major. My favorite thing about these courses were how they related to Sweden. I took Economics of European Integration, where I learned about the EU and Sweden's relationship with it. I also took Environmental Economics, which took on extra personal importance living in one of the leading countries in green energy and environmental legislation. The Program offered other courses that taught me more about Sweden and Swedish culture: besides a Swedish language class, I took Swedish Crime Fiction, where we read, in English, Swedish literature and learned about Swedish culture. These courses got me the credit and experience I was looking for abroad and granted me multiple lenses into Swedish culture. 

Other Highlights:

• Trip to the Artic Circle

•  Snowshoeing, tour skiing, and dogsledding

• Seeing the Northern Lights 

• Visiting Kiruna, the northen most city in Sweden

• 2 weeks of Spring Break!

  • Tasting wine in Bordeaux

  • Celebrating my birthday in Amsterdam
