Shyrmaine Sin is a native of Trinidad and Tobago. Coming from Drexel University, she joined the University of Pennsylvania, English Language Programs in the year 1997. In the year 1998, Shyrmaine was appointed the first International Scholar Specialist in the International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS). She has over 12 years of secretarial, administrative and program coordination experience.

Shyrmaine serves as a liaison between the University of Pennsylvania and government agencies such as the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Labor, the Social Security Administration and Penn DOT. She also serve as a key contact to departments with respect to immigration related visa options for admitting, hiring and inviting international students, scholars and employees to the University. Another one of Shyrmaine's primary responsibility is to coordinate and facilitate the weekly "J-1 Scholar Orientation Registration Check-In" sessions.

Shyrmaine is currently a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Notaries and she serves as an Alternate Responsible Officer for benefits related to the Department of Homeland Security.
