A message from Michael Horowitz, our interim director.

"The University of Pennsylvania has announced important changes to its operations due to the global coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

In the light of these developments and to protect our local community, we have decided to postpone all events for the remainder of this semester.

Our team will be working remotely, and we will have plenty to share with you in the coming weeks - like new episodes of our podcast, The Global Cable; announcements on new programs and partnerships; and fresh ideas about crucial global policy issues.

Stay tuned to our Weekly Digest and our social media channels - @perryworldhouse on TwitterFacebook, and Instagram - for the latest updates from us.

Thank you for your continued friendship and support. This is a unique and difficult challenge for the Penn community as well as the wider world, but by working together and looking out for each other, we will get through it. Take care, we look forward to welcoming you back to Perry World House very soon."

Please note that, given the restrictions on Penn's operations, Perry World House will be closed until further notice.

Previous updates

March 13, 2020

Like the rest of the Penn Community, we are monitoring the latest developments in the global outbreak of coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Perry World House is following the University’s guidance about events, operating hours, and other changes necessary to ensure the community’s health and safety.

Per the latest Penn guidance (link), we are postponing events for the foreseeable future. This includes our Spring 2020 Colloquium,  “Seeking Refuge in the Climate Emergency” on March 20. Given the restrictions on Penn's operations, Perry World House will be closed until further notice.

Event requests will continue to be reviewed, but in response to the University’s announcement, we will not be accepting requests for meetings or events during the period outlined by the University. This currently runs until at least March 31, 2020, and is subject to possible extension.

We will continue to update our policies as the situation requires. Please take care and stay tuned to this page and our social media channels for any additional changes.
