Richard Clarke served three consecutive presidents over ten continuous years as a White House official, including as Special Advisor to the President for Cyberspace, Special Assistant to the President for Global Affairs, and National Coordinator for Security and Counter-terrorism. Clarke will present remarks and then join a conversation with Beth Simmons, the Andrea Mitchell University Professor in Law, Political Science and Business Ethics, and William Burke-White, Richard Perry Professor and Inaugural Director of Perry World House. The event will serve as the launch for a two-day research conference around Perry World House's Borders and Boundaries in World Politics project. Led by Simmons, this cutting-edge, multi-year research effort examines how political life both affects and is affected by international borders and border security policies. This year's conference will focus on the implications boundaries between organized human communities, broadly understood.
