The Future of the Global Order in an Era of Populism, Nationalism, and Retrenchment with Felipe Calderón
4:00 PM
Irvine Auditorium

You’re invited to join Perry World House as we celebrate the one-year anniversary of our Grand Opening by hosting the inaugural conference on the PWH research theme, The Future of the Global Order. The conference will explore how populism, nationalism and retrenchment as global phenomena are altering the global order as we know it.

  • Can the global order survive an era of nationalism?
  • Will international alliances overcome national retrenchment?
  • When is electoral democracy a pathway to populism?
  • What key forces will shape the world’s economic future?

We will explore these questions and more with world leaders, diplomats, practitioners, military officials, journalists, and industry experts. In partnership with the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement, we will also be hosting the inaugural Penn Biden Leaders Dialogue, featuring former Vice President Joe Biden. The conference will be divided into three panel discussions, and will conclude with a dialogue between former Vice President Joe Biden and Felipe Calderón, Former President of Mexico.
