Visiting Fellow Nadeen Spence

Nadeen Spence is the student services and development manager at Mary Seacole Hall, a hall of residence for women at the University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona in Kingston, Jamaica. She is an advocate, activist, and scholar focused on issues related to women's sexual, political, and economic rights. Spence has served on Jamaica’s National Partnership Council across two political administrations. She has served on numerous committees including the Gender Advisory Council, the COVID-19 Economic Recovery Task Force, and the National Awards Council. She currently serves on the Crime Monitoring and Recovery Task Force and on a number of parliamentary-appointed boards. Spence holds a PhD in gender and development studies, a MSc in comparative politics/political theory, and a BSc in political science, all from UWI Mona.
