Beatrice Karp is a junior at the University of Pennsylvania studying “Science, Technology, Society” and “Engineering Entrepreneurship”. She has worked as a research assistant to Beth Simmons since her freshman year. She works on censorship data collection methodology to investigate the extent to which states exert their sovereignty online. She is interested in the intersection of technology, law, and cybersecurity. She is captain of the University of Pennsylvania Ski Team and has been awarded funding by the Wharton School in a pitch competition to build a “no snow” ski jump, as part of Wharton's Passion Project program.
