Julianne E. Burns is a pediatric physician at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric infectious diseases. She is a graduate student in Healthcare Quality and Safety at the Perelman School of Medicine. Burns is the Lead Physician of CHOP’s COVID-19 Special Isolation Unit and is an Associate Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania Center for Global Health. She was awarded a NIH T32 training grant and completed a Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology from the University of Pennsylvania with a project analyzing risk factors for infection in pediatric leukemia patients in the Dominican Republic. Burns received her B.S. in biology and M.D. from the University of California, San Diego, and completed her residency at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland and pediatric infectious diseases fellowship at CHOP.
