Karen Nershi

Karen Nershi is a Ph.D. candidate in political science at the University of Pennsylvania specializing in international relations. Her dissertation examines cross-national variation in the enforcement of anti-money laundering laws, and specifically the application of a new law for cryptocurrency exchanges, which allow users to trade cryptocurrency for government-issued currency. Before beginning her doctorate, Nershi earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Alabama, participated in intensive Arabic language programs in Morocco and Jordan, and completed an internship at the U.S. Consulate General in Frankfurt, Germany.
