Katherine Vaz Gomes is a Ph.D. candidate in chemical engineering at the University of Pennsylvania. Gomes’ research focuses on carbon capture and removal. Her work includes both experimental and technoeconomic analysis of carbon storage systems. She is interested in the intersection of communications, climate technology, and energy policy. She has also worked as a consulting science advisor for Stripe Climate and Carbon Direct. Gomes holds a B.S. in chemical engineering and professional writing from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
