2023 Graduate Winner Hoang Anh Phan

Hoang Anh Phan served as the Executive Vice President of the Graduate and Professional Student Assembly (GAPSA), collaborating with other international students to promote an inclusive, supportive environment that welcomed the International student community. Phan graduated as a Doctor of Chemistry from the School of Arts & Sciences. Through her involvement in the Penn community and her roles in the ISAB and ISSS, she also received the 2022-2023 Graduate Student Leadership Award— an award that acknowledges students for their service and lasting contributions to graduate student life at Penn. Besides her work of promoting global citizenship, she served as a Weingarten Ambassador and teaching assistant and was part of various student clubs such as Women+ in Chemistry and University Council.
